Introducing Health Focus Archipel
A new name for our lunch-and-learn sessions
Our information sessions, formerly known as our lunch-and-learn sessions, are back this fall with a new name: Health Focus Archipel.
We are pleased to launch Wave 5 of this learning series for health care and community service professionals. As always, these sessions provide opportunities to discover local resources, connect with partners, and deepen knowledge on topics that support high-quality care across our communities.
Two types of learning sessions
Health Focus Archipel now offers two types of sessions:
- Regular sessions are the one-hour information sessions participants are already familiar with, showcasing services, programs, resources, and initiatives offered by Archipel and its partners.
- Advanced learning sessions are 90-minute sessions that explore broader topics shaping health care and service delivery. These sessions cover subjects such as Indigenous cultural safety, racism in the medical sector, client-partner engagement, and other topics that support more equitable and inclusive care.
Three-part Truth and Reconciliation session
Wave 5 will begin with a three-part Truth and Reconciliation series exploring Indigenous approaches to holistic wellness through the interconnected dimensions of spirit, body, and mind. Designed for professionals, community members, and anyone interested in Indigenous approaches to wellness, participants will learn about spirituality, ceremony, trauma-informed healing, and traditional practices that support healing, balance, and reconnection to self, community, and the land.
The series will be led by Jenny Sawanohk, a member of Moose Cree First Nation, Indigenous healer, and psychotherapist.
We look forward to welcoming participants to this new wave of Health Focus Archipel.
