Significant progress in access to primary care in Prescott-Russell
Expansion of primary care in Prescott-Russell
Archipel is very proud to be celebrating an important milestone for our community: the expansion of primary care across the United Counties of Prescott-Russell.
Thanks to a $2.8 million investment, 7,350 people living in the Prescott-Russell area will finally have access to a family doctor, nurse practitioner or family health team. For these thousands of individuals, this is a concrete step toward more equitable, compassionate, and accessible care.
This meaningful initiative is made possible through the commitment and collaboration of Archipel key partners: the Centre de santé communautaire de l’Estrie, as well as the Clarence-Rockland Family Health Team and the Plantagenet Family Health Team. Together, we are strengthening a network already recognized for its collaborative spirit.
Initial efforts to attach patients with a primary care provider will focus on French-speaking individuals residing in areas served by postal codes K0A, K4K, K0B, and K6A and registered with Health Care Connect.

“By prioritizing primary care access plans, we are making a clear commitment to our communities—namely, that where you live will not determine the quality or continuity of the care you receive. The goal is to ensure that every resident has a reliable point of entry into the healthcare system, to improve outcomes, to support our providers, and to build a more sustainable and equitable future for our region. The time to act is now, and the impact will be felt by every patient we serve!” Sylvie Lefebvre, Co-Chair of Archipel OHT, and Executive Director of Prescott-Russell Community Services
“I feel a great sense of pride when I see what we are building with Archipel. Just a year ago, we didn’t yet have a primary care network, and we weren’t even eligible to apply under the EISP. Today, we are united, committed, and ready to make a real difference for 7,350 people in our communities—I am deeply touched by this project. As a Franco-Ontarian, I know its impact will be very real, that it will be felt in the lives of the people I interact with every day—colleagues, friends, family. And as a leader, I am inspired to see what collaboration and a shared vision can accomplish in such a short time.” Marc-André Sabourin, Executive Director, ÉSO Archipel
This announcement reflects the strength of collective action, and our shared commitment to improving access to care for our communities. Together, we are building a more equitable healthcare system — for today and for the future.
Thank you to everyone contributing to this essential progress.
