Report on the sociodemographic profile of Archipel’s active members
Archipel Ontario Health Team (OHT) recently established the sociodemographic profile of its active members as a group through a survey conducted in the winter of 2025.
Active members are individuals who regularly contributed meaningfully to the work of the Archipel Ontario Health Team through working groups, and committees or other structured engagements.

“At Archipel, we believe our relationships and membership must reflect the population we serve—both today and as our communities change and evolve. So this profile is more than just a snapshot; it’s a commitment. And we will use these results now to guide our actions,” explains Marie-Lou Meawasige, Population Health Manager at Archipel.
Collaboration and cocreation
Archipel OHT brings together 70 partners, organizations and community representatives that collaborate to improve access, outcomes, equity and sustainability of the health care system for patients, families and service providers. The cocreation work between Archipel and its members is essential in building a system that reflects the diversity and needs of our communities.
Representation
The report shows that, relative to the general population, the following groups are underrepresented at Archipel’s tables: people who are racialized, people with disabilities, immigrants and Indigenous people, those with mother tongues other than English or French, people with low education, low income, and both younger (under 35) and older (75+) adults.
On the other hand, women, caregivers, Francophones and people with mental health or substance use challenges are generally well represented.
Following changes in population
“We will repeat the survey in 2–3 years to ensure that as the population changes, so do we. By comparing results over time and holding ourselves accountable, we can ensure that our health system evolves alongside the lived experiences of our communities—allowing us to make meaningful improvements that truly benefit those we serve,” adds Marie-Lou.
The sociodemographic profile is available in the Reports section.
