Ginette Beaudry

Patient partner

Ginette Beaudry is deeply engaged in her community. After retiring from a teaching career, she got involved in the health and community services sector. She volunteered with Carefor’s palliative home care program for five years and is now volunteering as a driver for Prescott-Russell Community Services.

Ginette Beaudry has accompanied several loved ones, including her daughter, through illness and end of life. This role as a caregiver has allowed her to experience firsthand the realities of people in palliative care and to understand the level of emotional support and services needed by caregivers and families.

She joined the PCFAC to give a voice to cancer patients, particularly those under the age of 50, who often face inequalities in access to services.

Ginette wants to highlight the financial, emotional, and human circumstances that accompany illness and help create a more equitable and compassionate healthcare system for all. She emphasizes the need for tools and resources to support caregivers in navigating the system, especially in rural areas where access to services is more challenging.
